We would be interested to know, too, so if you discover any, please let us know about them and we will mention them here for others to find a bit more easily. We not afraid of competition, because we want you to choose what is best for your business, regardless of who provides it.
Rob Penner at J M Lahman Mfg Ltd found
MetalTrace®.
It does a lot (but also costs a lot, from what we heard).
We actually received a phone call from MetalTrace®,
who seem to consider us more complementary than competitive.
They seem to be more involved in document management than
inventory control, and say they have no ability to generate barcodes
for inventory.
They ought to know.
However, we also manage documents, their images and links, and
traceably connect them with your inventory.
Supposedly our document management must be primitive compared to
a system costing so much more.
They claim to service only very large accounts, whereas most
of our customers are smaller businesses operating separate
and fairly basic accounting software.
Competition? Maybe. You should probably find out for yourself.
Ahearn and Soper not only
provide barcode hardware and supplies, but they also have software.
They do not seem to have anything for heat tracking,
but it might be worth checking for yourself just in case
things have changed or they have a fit for what you want
to do.
In fact many suppliers of barcode equipment and media have software
as well.
It is unlikely that their software will do heat tracking or support
steel roll processing, but it can't hurt to ask.
We try to make software that does a first class job, and we hope that Track Heat will fit your needs perfectly and enable your organisation to achieve its full potential. However, it is possible that somewhere out there is something that will do a better job for you.
If you can find a better solution for your company then we don't want you using ours. That is why we offer a full featured demo, so you can try it and see if it fits. That is why we offer it as a service, so you can get in easily, expense all your costs, and get out easily if you outgrow it, encounter intractable problems, or find something better. Our goal is to help you, not to sell you.
We expect you to explore our web site for information, read the manual, check out the FAQ and try the demo. If all that still does not tell you what you need to know, then by all means get in touch. We prefer email, but if necessary pick up your phone. Suggestions for general improvement are always welcome.
If you need help with your implementation, regardless of whose software you use, we can provide hourly consulting.
